‘Stream of Consciousness’ or ‘Morning Pages’ are good daily, freeform journaling practices to help you process anything you’re currently experiencing. By setting a time or a page limit, you nudge yourself to go beyond the topline, surface level thoughts and feelings that you’re already hyper aware of, to discover anything that may be hiding underneath – i.e. they ask you to “drink beyond the foam of your morning latte,” so to speak, and uncover the rich flavors of who you are beneath.

Stream of Consciousness:
Set a timer for 10 minutes and write without stopping. Don't overthink or second guess what comes out, just let your subconscious write through you, letting the words flow out. Grant yourself full freedom of expression, without shying away from how you’re feeling physically, emotionally, mentally or even about what you’re writing. Once the timer’s gone off, either:
Morning Pages:
Take your time to thoughtfully write 3 pages in your journal each morning. Write about anything that comes to mind - a worry, a joy, your plan for the day, your dreams from the night before, how you’re feeling, etc. You can free-write this or use prompts to help channel your words for the day.
Journaling has no rules — write in any format that feels good to you, whether it be full sentences, bullet points, a single word, doodles, lyrics, poetry, or a letter. Turn your thoughts & emotions over to the page, giving them space to breathe and be heard. In doing so, you might just find the answers you’re looking for.
