About the author

Richard Rudd is an award-winning British author, mystic, and teacher, best known as the creator of the Gene Keys system — a synthesis of the I Ching, astrology, Kabbalah, and DNA research. A former student of Ken Wilber and an avid traveler who spent years in retreat, he dedicated decades to deciphering ancient texts and contemplating the human genetic code. He spent a significant seven-year period studying and teaching the Human Design System alongside its founder, Ra Uru Hu. While he deeply respected the mechanics of Human Design, Rudd was reportedly guided through his own profound, multi-day awakening in Scotland, where the entire Gene Keys framework was "downloaded" to him as a separate, contemplative path. He designed the Gene Keys to complement Human Design's mechanical map with a spiritual spectrum of consciousness (Shadows, Gifts, Siddhis), publishing his seminal work in 2005 as an "open source" transmission to the world, focused less on type and strategy and more on inner contemplation and self-study.
