Title: “Everything I Love About Me”

After titling your journal page, place your hand on your heart and close your eyes. Speak aloud: “I love that I…” and fill in the blank, jotting down anything that comes to mind. If you come up blank, give yourself some time to feel into it and utilize these prompts to help spark the feeling:

  • Everything I love about my personality
  • Everything I love about the way I express myself.
  • Everything I love about how I show up for people in my life
  • Everything I love about my dreams.
  • Everything I love about the ways I view the world.
  • Everything I love about the way I show up in the world.
  • Everything I love about the way I learn.
  • Everything I love about the experiences I'm having/have had.
  • Everything I love about how I spend my days.
  • Everything I love about my work.
  • Everything I love about the way I live my life.

Then consider:

  • How could I show myself more love?
  • How could I more lovingly express my soul’s true essence?
  • How could I share my love even more?
  • How could I open myself up to receiving more love?

Not ready to write about yourself?

If this feels too difficult to do on behalf of yourself right now, then pick someone special in your life and write this about them, or even consider writing them a love letter – whether that be a traditional letter to your friend, a text to a colleague, or even a post-it with a sweet little note for a stranger to find in a coffee shop bathroom. Sharing your love with the world sets off a ripple effect that has more power than we know. It can leave a lasting mark on someone who feels unseen or unheard, and create a miraculous moment for them to feel loved.

more to explore:

We’re often quick to recognize and praise the worth, creativity, and beauty in others. But when it comes to expressing love for ourselves, it somehow feels more challenging. Expressing our true love for something is deeply personal, and since love is a connector - a conduit - expressing love for ourselves is a way to reconnect to our soul.

Give yourself permission to lovingly notice all the beautiful, brilliant, quirky little things that make you uniquely you – the qualities you possess, the dreams you have, the person you’ve become and are still becoming, the way your mind works, the years of life that have marked your body, the experiences you’ve had. Can you give yourself love for all of it? Better yet, are you willing and open to receiving that love?

  • Love is not exclusive to romance. Love comes in many forms - both platonic and romantic - amongst friends, family, partners, colleagues, neighbors, your local barista who takes the time to remember your order and ask how your day is going, etc. Allow yourself to give and receive love from all.
  • Come back to this journal entry when you feel down, or doubtful, or self-critical. It’s a beautiful way to remember your Self.
  • Use this to help rewire your negativity bias by actively looking for the love that exists in everyday moments.
